Eriksen to Start for Denmark Against Slovenia in Euro 2024 Opener

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Christian Eriksen will make his much-anticipated return to the Danish national team when they face Slovenia in their opening match of Euro 2024 on Sunday, June 16th. Eriksen, 32, has not played for Denmark since suffering a cardiac arrest during their Euro 2020 match against Finland. He has since returned to playing for Manchester United and has been in excellent form in recent months. Denmark will be hoping that Eriksen can inspire them to a good start in Euro 2024. The Danes are in a tough group that also includes France and England, but they will be confident of their chances with Eriksen in the team. Slovenia will be no pushovers, though. They are a well-organized team with some talented players, including Atalanta's Josip Ilicic and Napoli's Miha Zajc. The match will be played at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, and will kick off at 5pm BST. ESPN will be providing live coverage of the game.
