Avezou Triumphs in Thrilling Final
Sam Avezou of France emerged victorious in the Men's Boulder event at the IFSC World Cup in Budapest on Saturday. The 24-year-old climber displayed remarkable skill and determination to top the podium, scoring a total of 1056 points after winning the Boulder competition and placing third in the Lead discipline.
Speaking after his triumph, Avezou expressed his joy and relief. "I'm so happy to have won in Budapest," he said. "The competition was tough, but I managed to stay focused and climb my best. It feels amazing to be on top of the podium again."
Avezou's victory marks his second World Cup gold medal of the season, having previously won the Boulder event in Innsbruck, Austria. The Frenchman is now a strong contender for the overall World Cup title.
In the Women's Boulder event, Petra Klingler of Switzerland secured the gold medal with a score of 954 points. The 23-year-old climber dominated the competition, topping all four boulders in the final.
The IFSC World Cup continues next weekend with the Arco Rock Master in Italy. The event will feature the world's top climbers competing in Lead, Bouldering, and Speed disciplines.
